Where Did You Hear About Betterhalf?

So, this all started during the Covid-19 pandemic period. Everyone including Geetanjali was on WFH! Like all of us during Covid, she was also scrolling through social media platforms most of the time, apart from work. Geetanjali was already devastated by her three failed relationships in the past. To add to the misery, all her social media feeds were filled with her friends and people getting into relationships, marriages, etc. Obviously, she got frustrated over her then relationship status. But also it was very difficult for her to trust a person or get back with someone again. Wondering, what next? Well, the next step was totally obvious and impulsive. What Was Your First Conversation and Meeting Like?

When we said that your profile picture is of utmost importance, we meant this!

Vikram was the third person to appear on her Betterhalf profile after Geetanjali created her account. Vikram had a cute profile picture with his pet and nephew and that did the magic for her. Geetanjali is a big lover of both dogs and kids and there she saw a cute guy with two of her favorite things!

She immediately matched and connected over chat. In no time, Vikram was also equally interested in her and asked for her pictures other than those on her Betterhalf profile. Geetanjali found it silly and wondered ‘Why isn’t he asking for her Instagram handle and checking it himself’. But at the same time, she was equally paranoid and unsure of the authenticity of profiles and the safety of matrimony applications. However, all the verified users at Betterhalf have to register themselves with their mobile numbers and government-approved identification documents. But it is usual for girls to hesitate a bit before sharing their personal details with a completely unknown guy. So, when Vikarm asked for her contact details she preferred to begin their conversation on Telegram. And this conversation and connection never stopped. They talked till 5 in the morning and the next thing they wanted was to see each other in person. 

Geetanjali took the 9 hours long journey by bus from Delhi to Dehradun. The journey became more grueling when she was already all hungry and exhausted and the bus broke twice during that time. She was irritated, cranky, and hungry yet excited to meet her Betterhalf. Imagine, what happened next? Vikram came to meet her in his boxers. So, her first impression of Vikram was not really great!

Which Was the Defining Moment For You?

There were many indications that defined their feelings for each other but it was primarily the second time when Geetanjali went to meet him. Her bus arrived at the destination at 4 a.m. the weather was pretty cold then and Vikram arrived at the bus stop with a jacket for her. He gave me that jacket saying ‘I thought you would catch a cold’. Isn’t that wonderful guys? 

Geetanjali really loved this gesture and many other things about this guy but she had still not recovered from her past experiences. She thought her heart is entirely empty and there cannot be any feelings left for anyone inside her. She conveyed the same to him and said ‘There is no love left inside me for anyone else now’ so, it doesn't matter who you are, whatever you are doing, or whatever anyone does, I cannot have feelings again for literally anyone!’ 

Vikram replied, “My love would be enough for both of us!”

Of course, she melted but she was still too broken to eliminate her fears, yet!

What Fixated Your Heart On Him?

So, Geetanjali made up her mind that she wanted to end things with Vikram the next time they chatted. She was already lunging between her own negativity and fearfulness and did not want to drag Vikram into all this. Meanwhile, Vikram had gone to the Kedarnath temple. Geetanjali was thinking to herself that she would ask Vikaram to move on once he gets back from his Kedarnath trip. Can you guess what happened? 

Vikram called her the other day from Kedarnath early in the morning. He said, ‘I wanna meet you. Are you coming to meet me or should I come?’, to which Geetanjali inquired if everything is alright. 

He replied, “Last night was difficult, I was sitting in front of the temple late at night and tears started rolling. At that moment, I just wanted to hug you and could feel that you’re everything that I ever wanted in my life. I wouldn’t trade anything for you ever, no matter what.” 

Geetanjali was obviously frozen, numb, thoughtless, and speechless at that moment but she described those feelings as magical, profound, and mystical. Next thing she knew she was traveling to meet him!

How Did You Make This Decision to Marriage?

As we all know now, Vikram was already falling head over heels for Geetanjali and all in for this relationship. But Vikram’s ability to keep calm, stay positive, be her real stressbuster all the time, and stay grateful for everything did the work for Geetanjali. He believes that one cannot get anxious or worried about the things they cannot control which we all agree with! 

But it is fairly difficult to imbibe this thing in our personality. So, his optimistic approach to life really comforted Geetanjali by all means. By now, she was pretty convinced that “If he is not perfect, nobody else would be for me.”

What Does Marriage Mean to You?

When we asked this question,  Geetanjali said, 

“Marriage for me is a lifelong promise. It is doing anything unconditionally for someone even if you don’t like doing it but you can’t stop doing it so that you can see a smile on their face. It is the comfort of being yourself without the fear of being judged. This wasn’t that easy but I could only do this for my man any day.”

We were delighted to hear this from someone who was hopeless about finding love or getting into a relationship again and yet found her soulmate so naturally. 

What Was Your Experience on Betterhalf?
