When Stalin, a Lead UI/UX Designer in a Gurugram-based company, connected with Anshu, working as a Full Stack Developer in Bangalore, through Betterhalf.ai, both had this preconceived notion - A popular saying in IT Industry that designers and developers don’t get along well. But when they started talking, they got to know the baselessness and absurdity of this saying. They always believed that love can overpower the strongest of the things in the world. 

This couple trusted the power of love and gave attention to unnecessary notions attached to their professional backgrounds. Once they started talking, there was no turning back as they found so many common threads in their life about which they’ve been still talking, and will do it forever. On 30th December, they are going to get married in Anshu's hometown - Ranchi. 

When we first heard of their story, we instantly thought that it will definitely inspire so many people to give love a chance leaving aside everything else. The story of Anshu and Stalin tells us that don’t listen to people, listen to yourself when finding your betterhalf. We are sharing a few excerpts from their beautiful story - How they met, favorite memory in their relationship, things they like about each other, and much more… 

Each of us has this fascinating curiosity about the inception of a couple’s love story. We are no different from others. And that’s why our first question to Anshu and Stalin was about how they connected and their mindset before joining our matrimony platform. 

Both Anshu and Stalin told us they were active on other platforms as well. 

“At this moment, I don’t exactly remember where I got to know about Betterhalf. I tried to give it a try and download it. Within 1 or 2 days, I came across Stalin’s profile. I think destiny has it as he was my first match with whom I connected on the app. A few months later, I am tied up with him forever.”, said Anshu. 

On the other hand, Stalin got to know about Betterhalf through one of his close friends. Telling about his part of the story, “My friend recommended that I should try this app. It is quite good. So, I trusted him and downloaded the app. On the app, I got several requests from a couple of people and Anshu was one of them. Once I accepted Anshu’s request, we started exchanging messages. And from there, we haven’t stopped yet. :)”

After knowing the story of their connection, we asked them about that one memory in their relationship when they knew - YES, this is the person I’d been looking for for so long. 

Just when we finished our question, there was eerie silence - Only the sound of thoughts running through in Anshu and Stalin’s mind. 

Finally, Stalin started to speak. “When we connected for the first time, she was in Ranchi and I was at Gurugram. After exchanging a few messages initially for a few days, I completely disappeared for a month because I had Covid and I was unable to contact her. During this time, she was in doubt whether we are continuing or not and whether he likes me or not. After a month, I texted her back. Actually, it wasn’t me. It was her text to which I replied. From then onwards conversation kept on happening. There are a lot of memories. So, it’s kind of difficult for me to pick one. Started with Betterhalf, moved to Instagram. Then phone calls and video calls. ”

As soon as Stalin finished his answer, we asked them the one-of-the most-awaited-questions among people - When was the first time they met & how was it?

Listening to our question, Anshu started to giggle and said, “That is a pretty interesting story. I wanted to go on a trip because everybody was working from hills and beaches remotely. When we were talking to each other, we didn’t have anything planned. We planned a short trip, and we both are travel freaks. We both are foodies. We both like exploring new places. These were the connecting parts for me. I made a small escape to Himachal and did my work there. While returning, I visited him, and that’s how we first met.”

Anshu and Stalin also told us that they haven’t gone anywhere together yet. Covid and work are a few reasons. But they also informed us that they have a lot of travel plans. And by a lot means A LOT. Extending our question about their first meeting, we asked them what was their initial reaction when they met for the first time to which Anshu’s response was damn cute. 

“Thanks to AI-backed technology of Betterhalf, I got a few compatible profiles and Stalin was one of them. When I saw his profile for the first time. I quite liked his name, handsome profile picture, and smile. I was like, okay, let’s send a request to this guy. At that time, I wasn’t thinking about whether I would get to connect with him or not. But his smile was the driving factor for me.”

“After knowing each others’ professions, we had one thing in mind. There's a saying in the IT Industry that Designer and Developers don’t go well with each other. But when we started chatting, we found so many common threads - Food, Travel, Photography, Cinema Lover. So, it was a never-ending conversation with him. I feel that we were connected with him from the first moment.”

For Stalin, it was a completely different story. “Honestly speaking, I was never into these dating or matrimonial apps. I never used them initially. Also, I read some reviews about how these apps don’t work well. But I decided to give Betterhalf a chance. When I got some connection requests, I thought that these are not genuine people and instead, some bots, some fake people created through machines. But once I started chatting with Anshu, I had no doubt. Everything was so nice. Before Anshu, I spoke with other people too, but I couldn’t find any connection with them. With Anshu, we never ran out of topics. Our phone calls, too, went for hours. We have so many things in common. Even we found a certain similarity in our family pattern.”

We didn’t stop here. The reason being we were so engulfed in the story of their first meeting. So, we asked if they went out for dinner or something else on their first date. And honestly speaking, we didn’t know that we would get such a heartwarming and fulfilling story. We’re telling you this will melt your heart. 

While responding to this question, they both were telling each other to go first. In the end, Anshu started talking, 

“As I told you about when we first met. I planned to meet him for at least 2-3 hours while returning from Himachal Pradesh as my flight to Ranchi was scheduled in the next 4-5 hours. But due to some reasons, my flight got preponed and I had only a one-hour window to meet him. So, I decided to leave my flight so that we can spend more time together. We went for lunch and had a lot of fun.” Awwwwwwwwwww Max Pro……..

When we asked Anshu about her favorite memory in the relationship until the wedding, she said how difficult it is to pick one memory as every day with Stalin is really special for me. “So, I can't pick one particular thing. Everything is my favorite.”

In any love story, a few things make two people feel connected. And it’s always good to know about these things. When we asked those things that they like most about each other and helped them feel connected, Anshu told us how Stalin’s passion for his career is the most wonderful thing about him. 

“Apart from the commonality, what I like most about him is his passion for his career. Sometimes I wonder about how he manages to maintain the walk on the tightrope among different aspects of his life - whether it is his friends, work, family, or me - with so much perfection. He always lives in the present moment. I have the same mindset and always wanted to find a person who shares the same values and beliefs. And that’s why I feel so blessed to find him in my life.”

For Stalin, Anshu’s humble nature is the most wonderful thing. 

“Apart from the fact that she loves traveling and food, her most special thing is her humble nature. She knows how to prioritize things perfectly. Both of us are pretty disciplined in the things we do. Also, she is pretty well-organized in whatever she does. And that's what drove me towards her.”

As we said, they are getting married on 3oth December. And both of them are so excited about their marriage that at the mention of itself, they shared how everything is so intricately planned.

“We are quite excited. We have a lot of things planned. How the entrance would be, what floral pattern we will use, what flowers we will use, the design of invitation cards, everything. From the dresses to cards to venue to the crockery, we have sorted everything out and we cannot wait for our marriage to happen.”

Before we bid adieu to the beautiful couple, we wanted to know what the idea of marriage means to them. Sharing their thoughts about it, they said, 

“Marriage is a lifelong partnership. To be with the person in good and bad times. To be equal partners in everything. If he is happy, I’m happy. If things are not going well, we have to work together. So, for me, marriage is a lifelong partnership of two people while building a future together.
