What is human matchmaking?

Human Matchmaking is a service aimed at expediting your partner search process by providing an in-depth personalized service, understanding your priorities, curating profiles and putting dedicated efforts to match you with your right one, with support from an expert by your side.

Who is it for?

The Human Matchmaking service is for anyone who is on a lookout for their life partner and wishes to expedite their search with support from an expert by their side.

How is human matchmaking different from AI matchmaking? 

Human Matchmaking is aimed to expedite your partner search by providing an in-depth personalized service, understanding your priorities, curating profiles and putting dedicated efforts to match you with your right one, with support from an expert by your side.

AI matchmaking provides you with highly curated profiles powered by our AI, to help you find your life partner.

How does it work?

The human matchmaking process works as follows:
1. Select a pack- Start your matchmaking journey with a pack, that suits your need 
2. Book your slot- Schedule a call with the matchmaker at your convenience
3. Get hand-picked matches- Discuss your preferences, and get access to specially curated profiles through a matchmaker
4. Shortlist profiles- Select profiles that suit your preferences 
5. Introductory call- Get ready for your first call with the profiles shortlisted by you

How will the matchmaker help me?

The matchmaker will be your expert who will be involved to accelerate conversations, cope with stress and anxiety,  gain feedback and bring you closer to your partner search process.

How do I purchase a pack?

There are two ways by which you can purchase a pack:
  -  Directly from within the app using your Credit/Debit card, Netbanking, UPI, or other payment modes through a payment gateway.
  -  Call our customer success helpline at +91-8880055182 between 10 am and 8 pm on any day of the week, and they will assist you with the process.

I want to understand the benefits before purchasing a human matchmaker pack. How can I do it?

You can book an Intro call with one of our matchmakers where they’ll help you understand the deeper nuances of the service and their role in your partner search journey.

What is the difference between the Basic (3 months) and Gold (6 months) pack?

Both the packs will provide you with a dedicated matchmaker, a complete profile makeover, and 10 hand-picked profiles per week. 
The only difference would be with respect to the number of shortlisted profiles and guaranteed calls. You will get guaranteed 30 profiles to shortlist and 4 calls (audio/video) if you purchase the Basic pack; while the gold pack will promise you 60 profiles and 6 calls.

Which pack is more suitable for me: Basic (3 months) and Gold (6 months) pack?

Matchmaking is a time taking process. It completely depends on your requirements and preferences of finding a life partner. 

What would happen if my pack expires, and I don't get the promised benefits?

Matchmaking is a time taking process. While the goal is an attempt to get you on a call with your preferred matches, there are many factors that affect the search process including but not limited to the number of potential matches available for you on Betterhalf.
If the matchmaker is unable to schedule calls as promised in the pack, an extension will be provided to you till we help you get you on the guaranteed number of calls.

Will my pack renew automatically?

All human matchmaker packs can be purchased only one-time. You will have an option to renew your pack starting 3 days before it expires, or immediately after you have exhausted your profile shortlist count.

Will I be able to get a refund if I am not satisfied with the service?

We do not have a refund policy. Payments once made shall stand appropriated, and not be refunded. However, we can provide a pack extension on a case to case basis if we are unable to set up the guaranteed number of calls for you.

Can I choose my matchmaker?

We don't provide you with an option to choose a matchmaker. We have hand-picked the matchmakers with profound experience to assist and assure you the best in class service that will accelerate your journey of finding a life partner.

Can I request the same/different gender for a matchmaker?

We don't provide you with an option to choose a matchmaker based on gender. We have hand-picked the matchmakers with profound experience to assist and assure you the best in class service that will accelerate your journey of finding a life partner.  

Will I be allocated a dedicated human matchmaker for the entire duration of my pack?

Yes, you will be allocated a dedicated matchmaker for the entire duration of your matchmaking journey based on the pack you have purchased. 

Can I reach out to my matchmaker at any time of the day?

The matchmaker would be available only at specific date/time slots through phone and email (Google Meet).  You can book the same from within the app. All relevant details will be shared with you once your pack purchase is complete.

Can I request for a change of my matchmaker?

The matchmaker once assigned to you cannot be changed. We have hand-picked the matchmakers with profound experience to assist and assure you the best in- class service that will accelerate your journey of finding a life partner.
Matchmaking is a time taking process. We recommend you to be patient and put 100% trust in the process.

How many hand-picked profiles will I receive from my matchmaker?

The matchmaker will curate and share 10 hand-picked profiles every week irrespective of the pack purchased by you.

How do I differentiate between the hand-picked profiles sent to me by my matchmaker and the regular daily AI driven matches?

There is a separate badge “Sent by human matchmaker”, shown against all hand-picked profiles sent by the matchmaker, as part of the Matches tab within the AI matchmaking category.

Would I be able to directly connect with my shortlisted profiles?

You will not be able to directly connect with your shortlisted profiles. Once a profile is shortlisted by you, it is shared with the matchmaker. The matchmaker then speaks to the profile on your behalf and shares your expression of interest and takes the conversation ahead.

From where does the matchmaker curate the list of recommended profiles for me?

The matchmaker will actively look for profiles on Betterhalf and use tools at the backend to find the most relevant high quality matches based on your preferences.

Would my matchmaker update me with respect to the number of profiles shared every week (as per my pack)?

The matchmaker would be personally involved throughout your partner search journey and will update you periodically on the progress to find you a suitable match. 

How can I shortlist a profile and send it to my matchmaker?

After the successful purchase of the human matchmaker pack, you can shortlist a profile and send it to the matchmaker via the “Sent” interests tab within the AI matchmaking category.

Can I shortlist a profile to whom I have sent an Intro message or used a Sparkle along with my connection request?

Interest sent both with/without Intro message and with/without Sparkle can be shortlisted from the “Sent” interests tab within the AI matchmaking category and sent to the matchmaker.

Can I shortlist a profile with whom I am already connected on the app?

Yes, you can shortlist a profile and send it to the matchmaker from your “chat messages” section. This can be used to initiate/re-initiate a conversation with someone you are really interested in with the help of the matchmaker.

Can I re-shortlist someone with whom I am already connected on the app through the human matchmaking service?

Once a connection is made with a shortlisted profile, you cannot re-shortlist it and send it to the matchmaker. 

Post I purchase a pack, can I shortlist and send a profile to the matchmaker directly from the ‘’Matches’’ tab inside the AI Matchmaking category?

No, you cannot shortlist a profile directly from the Matches tab within the AI matchmaking category. You have to first send a connection request to the profile you are interested in and then shortlist the same from the “Sent” requests tab within the AI matchmaking category.

Can I shortlist profiles that I have sent an interest to in the past and am not able to connect with?

Yes, you can shortlist profiles directly from the “Sent” interests tab within the AI matchmaking category for the interests sent in the past 30 days.

How will I get to know about the shortlist count on the app?

You will be able to view the count of remaining profiles to be shortlisted as part of the Human matchmaking page inside the Current Pack card.
Also, you will get an immediate feedback in the app mentioning the shortlist count left as soon as you have shortlisted a profile and sent it to the matchmaker.

How will I get updated on the progress for a particular shortlisted profile?

The matchmaker will update the status against each shortlisted profile. You will clearly be able to see all the statuses as part of the progress against a shortlisted profile inside the ‘’Shortlisted” tab within the Human matchmaking category.

What are the different statuses that I will be able to see as part of the Shortlisted profiles tab?

Statuses that could appear against each profile in the Shortlisted tab within the Human matchmaking category are as follows:
Pending - A profile has been shortlisted by you and a discussion is awaited between your matchmaker and the shortlisted profile.
Interested - An expression of interest has been initiated on your behalf by the matchmaker, and the shortlisted profile is interested to view your case.
Not interested - An expression of interest was initiated on your behalf by the matchmaker, and the shortlisted profile has declined the same.
Call scheduled - A call has been scheduled between you and your shortlisted profile.
Call done - The scheduled call has been successfully completed between you and your shortlisted profile.
Interest accepted - Your interest has been accepted by your shortlisted profile. You both are now connected on the app to chat and take the conversation further.
Interest declined - The interest sent by you through your matchmaker has been declined by the shortlisted profile and you will not be able to take your case ahead. 

Can I send a message while I shortlist a profile through the human matchmaking service?

No, you cannot send a message from the app directly while shortlisting a profile. However, you can share a note for the profiles you have shortlisted with the matchmaker directly on call. They will then share it on your behalf when they present your case to the shortlisted profile.

Once a call is done with the shortlisted profile, how will I be able to connect with him/her and take the conversation further?

Once a call is successfully completed between you and your shortlisted profile, the human matchmaker will update the status as “Call done”. Post that, an option to either “Accept” or “Decline” the interest would be available against the profile inside the “Received” tab within the Human matchmaking category.

How will I know that the profile I got successfully connected with was driven by the matchmaker?

You will be able to see a different icon for human matchmaker as part of your “connections” and “chat messages”, whenever a connection has been driven through the matchmaker.

Will my matchmaker update me with the number of calls/connections that have been successfully made? (as per my pack)

The matchmaker would share regular updates with you on the number of calls/connections that are created, as part of your pack.

Will my matchmaker help me even after I get connected with a shortlisted profile?

The matchmaker would dedicatedly assist you in finding your life partner throughout the tenure of your matchmaking service.

Where will I see someone who has purchased one of the human matchmaking packs and shortlisted my profile?

There is a separate “Received” tab within the Human matchmaking category where you will be able to view all your interests received through the matchmaker.

What will happen if my pack expires and I have a few shortlist counts still pending with me?

Your shortlist count expires once your pack expires. We highly recommend you to cautiously use your allocated shortlist count. Once your pack expires, you will have to renew it to continue your partner search journey on the app with the matchmaker. 

What will happen if I exhaust all my shortlist count but my pack is still active?

We highly recommend you to cautiously use your shortlist count. Once expired, you will have to renew your pack to regain access to your shortlist count and continue your partner search journey on the app along with the matchmaker. 

If I get connected with a shortlisted profile and don’t wish to use my remaining shortlist count, will I be eligible for a refund?

Payments once made shall stand appropriated, and not be refunded. It is your choice if you don't wish to use the remaining shortlist count and let the pack expire automatically.

Can I un-shortlist someone after shortlisting?

No, once you have shortlisted a profile, it cannot be undone. 

What will happen if my request does not get accepted or is declined by a shortlisted profile?

We promise 4/6 meets (audio/video) based on your pack. While the goal is an attempt to connect you to as many potential matches based on your preferences, it is solely up to the shortlisted profile to accept/decline your interest. Human matchmaker is only a facilitator in the whole process.
